Readership Promotion Campaign Kicks off in Plateau State
The National Library of Nigeria, Plateau state branch has kicked off the 2022 Readership Promotion Campaign on Wednesday, 21st September, 2022 with a visit to Ganawuri community of Riyom LGA to sensitize the Hard- to-Reach on the importance of reading and the need to imbide reading habit.
The campaign was specifically held on the community market day so that a good number of participants will be reached.
Activities that marked the events includes:
☑️Discussion with members of the community at the ATAA ATEN's residence, who is the paramount Ruler of the chiefdom palace, where the head of branch, Mrs Sarah Emmanuel gave a pep talk on importance of reading supported by members of staff.
☑️The team also visited a local market equally to sensitize them on how reading can improve their lives positively.
☑️ Some members of the community shared their personal experiences on how reading has changed their lives.
☑️Book presentation and other reading materials were made to all participants, courtesy of ACTS bookshop.
The community were excited with the program and expressed their willingness to start a reading club in the community while seeking the support of the National Library of Nigeria.
