The National Librarian/CEO, Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi today made a facility tour of the site of the corporate headquarters building, to ascertain the level work done so far. Prof. Anunobi was optimistic that her stepping into the system will be a stepping stone to the completion of the gigantic edifice which will serve as knowledge heritage of the nation. She hoped that the holdings will grow and surpass the 10million being projected by the Contractor. Briefing the NL/CEO, Arc. Mike Oti, the project Consultant from Odeleye International Associates informed her that the building was structured for 11 floors, comprising of two basement floors, ground floor and 8 upper floors. The building also has the capacity of holding 10million items out of which 3million are volumes.
Speaking, the Contractor, Engr. Adebowale Adeyanju appreciated President Mohammadu Buhari for turning the search light of the building. He anticipated that with the appointment of the National Librarian/CEO, she will use her good offices to push forward so that the project does not suffer further delays anymore The National Librarian was conducted round the edifice by the Contractor while Deputy Director in charge of Physical & Planning Division, Builder Wilson Odunbaku gave explanations about the projects. The National Librarian/CEO was accompanied by all the Directors including the SA (Admin) Mr. Dele Aworinde and SA (Professional) Mr. Kenneth Ahonsi including staff from the Public Relations Division.
