Students from Federal University Lafia, visits NLN on excursion...

One hundred and Forty Seven (147) Students from Federal University Lafia, Nasarawa State had on Wednesday 17th November, 2021 visited the National Library of Nigeria on excursion. Led by their Course Lecturer, Dr. Mpaga Asom, the students were received on arrival by a Deputy Director in the Planning, Research and Statistics Department, Mrs Franca Ofodili who took them round all Professional Departments at the Corporate Headquarters. She equally encouraged them to practice librarianship profession with passion, charging them to double their effort especially in the area of digital library services which has become a new trend in the profession worldwide. Mrs Ofordili also explained to the Students, function and activities of the National Library of Nigeria and encouraged them to inculcate the habit of reading even outside school hours. Earlier, the Lecturer Dr. Mpaga Asom accompanied by three other supportive Lecturers said that the purpose of their visit was to bridge the gap between theory in the class and what is practiced in the profession so that students would understand the course much better. The students had earlier visited the FCT Abuja branch of the National Library of Nigeria
